HCS SB 68 -- AMBULANCE AND FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTS; EMERGENCY
MEDICAL TECHNICIANS

This bill makes a technical change to the Ambulance or Fire
Protection District Sales Tax Trust Fund.  Under current law, the
Director of the Department of Revenue must authorize the State
Treasurer to make refunds from the amounts in the trust fund and
credit any district for erroneous payments and overpayments made.
The bill allows the director to make the refunds and credits.

The bill also allows for the statewide certification of an
emergency medical technician-intermediate.  Under current law,
this position is only authorized in certain charter and first
classification counties.
